Maze is a well-funded startup focused on generative AI and security, seeking a Security Solutions Engineer to drive revenue through technical consultation and demonstrations. The role involves serving as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, leveraging deep security expertise to close deals using their AI-powered vulnerability management platform.
Responsibilities:
- Own Technical Sales Leadership: Serve as the trusted security advisor during sales cycles, leveraging your in-house experience to connect with prospects' real-world challenges and demonstrate deep vulnerability management expertise that drives deal closure
- Design Revenue-Driving Solutions: Work with enterprise prospects to understand their security architecture and design tailored solutions using our AI-powered platform that directly support deal closure and expansion opportunities
- Deliver Compelling Demonstrations: Execute technical product demonstrations that showcase clear value propositions and translate complex AI-powered capabilities into tangible business outcomes
- Lead Proof-of-Concept Engagements: Design, implement, and manage POCs that demonstrate measurable security improvements and clear ROI, achieving our target 50% POC-to-paid conversion rate
- Enable the Sales Team: Provide technical insights, competitive positioning, and deep security domain expertise that accelerates deal velocity across the pipeline
- Translate Customer Needs: Serve as the voice of the prospect to our product and engineering teams, ensuring our roadmap addresses real-world security challenges
Requirements:
- 5+ years in a pre-sales solutions engineering or sales engineering role, with a focus on cloud security, vulnerability management, or adjacent cybersecurity domains
- Proven ability to drive deal closure through compelling demonstrations, POC leadership, and consultative technical selling to enterprise security teams
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management tools, processes, and the challenges enterprises face in this space
- Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), compliance requirements, and how enterprise security teams operate
- Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for audiences ranging from security analysts to CISOs
- Natural ability to understand prospect challenges, design tailored solutions, and position technical capabilities as business outcomes
- Track record of building trust-based relationships with enterprise stakeholders throughout complex sales cycles
- Previous in-house experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or risk management that provides authentic understanding of customer challenges
- CISSP, CISM, or other relevant security certifications
- Understanding of how AI and machine learning apply to cybersecurity challenges
- Hands-on experience with major vulnerability management platforms (Qualys, Rapid7, Tenable, etc.)
