
This Student Assistant position is scheduled for 20 hours per week
Master's Students will be at 19.62 per hour and Doctoral Students will be at 27.72 per hour
The Office of Graduate Studies serves as the center of leadership for graduate education at the University of South Florida.
The Student Assistant position is responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of ETD and Writing Services in the facilitation of the Electronic Thesis and Dissertation process in the Office of Graduate Studies at USF. The focus is on the review of thesis and dissertation materials. An understanding of Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat is essential, as is the ability to help students with the use of Microsoft Word. Training for using more advanced aspects of Word will be provided, but an ability to learn quickly and troubleshoot is important. Everyday duties include 1-on-1 meetings with students (virtual), keeping track of assigned student progress through the ETD Process, reviewing formatting of assigned ETDs and providing comments for revision, and approving the final versions of the assigned electronic thesis/dissertation for publication. The candidate needs a good eye for detail as an editor, ensuring the formatting guidelines are met, and should be able to patiently help students who have varying levels of familiarity with Word.
