CMC Partners is collaborating with a prominent family-owned mining and construction materials business to find a senior Sales & Marketing Manager for their Aggregate Division. This role involves leading the commercial strategy, expanding distribution, and enhancing sales performance across the United States, with a focus on building and scaling aggregate distribution networks via rail and barge.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Aggregate Division growth strategy
- Expand distribution via rail and barge networks across target U.S. markets
- Identify and secure new customers, terminals, and strategic distribution partnerships
- Build relationships with contractors, DOTs, distributors, and major end-users
- Conduct market analysis to identify high-demand product opportunities
- Create structured go-to-market plans with defined revenue and volume targets
- Hold full P&L responsibility for the Aggregate Sales Division
- Partner closely with operations to align production and logistics with commercial growth
- Present growth strategies and capital proposals directly to executive leadership
- Lay the foundation for future team expansion, with the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated sales team
- Rapid assessment and prioritisation of multi-state expansion opportunities
- Development of phased rail and river logistics strategy
- Navigating pricing dynamics, freight economics, and competitive pressures
- Building scalable systems to support long-term growth
Requirements:
- Proven track record in Aggregate Mining Sales & Marketing
- Demonstrated experience building rail and/or barge distribution networks
- Strong knowledge of aggregate markets across the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast regions
- Strategic thinker capable of designing and executing scalable growth plans
- Comfortable operating autonomously within an entrepreneurial, family-owned culture
- Commercially astute, adaptable, and hands-on
- Education is secondary to proven experience and measurable results
