- 7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on electronics components or semiconductors.
- Experience with data center ASICs and custom silicon commodities.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships.

As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.
As a Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for ASICs (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits) spanning ML, networking, and CPU products. Your role is critical in driving next-generation technologies, ensuring a stable supply of high-quality components at exceptional business terms, and supporting the company's product development and manufacturing goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive global sourcing strategies for custom silicon by analyzing market trends, participant landscapes, and sub-tier supplier capabilities (e.g., wafer fab, assembly, and test) to align with business objectives.
- Lead the identification, qualification, and contract negotiation of potential suppliers through due diligence, while fostering long-term collaborative partnerships to ensure favorable terms and open communication.
- Drive the full ASIC lifecycle from architecture definition and business awards to NPI production ramps and end-of-life (EOL) ensuring seamless alignment across Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams.
- Maximize value through expert-level cost modeling and value engineering initiatives, identifying key cost drivers and implementing reduction strategies to optimize the overall supply chain spend.
- Maintain high standards for quality, delivery, and cost by monitoring supplier performance metrics and executing data-driven improvement plans and risk mitigation strategies.
