Dispatcher - Days

Job Summary

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and dispatching transportation and service requests within the facility, ensuring timely and efficient communication and resource deployment. This role serves as the primary point of contact for receiving, prioritizing, and assigning transport and support services while maintaining accurate records and communication with relevant departments and staff.

Essential Functions

• Receives and prioritizes transportation and support service requests through phone, radio, or electronic systems.
• Dispatches personnel and resources according to established protocols and service levels.
• Maintains communication with drivers, staff, and supervisors to monitor service progress and address delays or issues.
• Tracks, logs, and updates request statuses in real time using dispatch software or logs.
• Collaborates with nursing, security, environmental services, and other departments to coordinate timely support.
• Ensures appropriate documentation of all service requests and maintains compliance with departmental policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in dispatching, customer service, or healthcare support services required
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with dispatch software and basic computer systems.
• Knowledge of facility layout and departmental workflows preferred.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to urgent requests.
