SUMMARY
The
Senior Microsoft 365 Technician
is a subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing Microsoft 365 environments across a portfolio of managed services clients. This role combines advanced technical troubleshooting, billable project execution, and technical leadership to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable Microsoft cloud environments.
This is a senior, escalation-level role within the Managed Services team and requires deep expertise in Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams, and Microsoft security solutions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Microsoft 365 Subject Matter Expertise

Administer and architect Microsoft 365 environments across multiple tenants
-
Design and maintain:
-
Entra ID (Azure AD) identity and access controls
-
Conditional Access and MFA policies
-
Exchange Online configurations and mail flow
-
SharePoint and OneDrive governance
-
Teams’ configuration and optimization
-
Implement and optimize security controls including:
-
Microsoft Defender
-
Secure Score improvements
-
Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
-
Compliance policies
-
Advanced Troubleshooting & Escalation
-
Serve as Tier 3 escalation resource for complex Microsoft 365 incidents
-
Troubleshoot hybrid identity, Exchange, and synchronization issues
-
Own high-impact and priority incidents through resolution
-
Engage Microsoft support and vendors when required
-
Conduct root cause analysis and preventative remediation
-
Project Execution
-
Lead and execute Microsoft 365

related projects including:

Migrations (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive)
-
Tenant consolidations
-
Security posture improvements
-
Intune deployments
-
Hybrid environment remediation
-
Deliver projects within scope, timeline, and budget
-
Document as-built configurations and handoffs to support teams

Technical Leadership
-
Mentor Tier 1

Develop and maintain SOPs and knowledge base documentation

Identify trends and recurring issues across client environments

Recommend service improvements and standardization initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
-
5+ years of IT systems or cloud support experience
-
3+ years hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience
-
Experience working within an MSP environment preferred
Strong understanding of:

Exchange Online and mail flow

Conditional Access

SharePoint/OneDrive architecture

Experience with hybrid environments (Azure AD Connect, on-prem AD)
Preferred Certifications:
