The Business Analyst role involves understanding client needs, translating business requirements into clear technical direction, and serving as a bridge between clients and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Partner directly with clients to understand business processes, goals, and challenges
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for engineering teams
- Create and maintain documentation such as:
- Business requirements
- Functional specifications
- Process flows and diagrams
- Collaborate closely with Senior Software Engineers and Architects to clarify requirements and answer questions
- Help manage scope by identifying gaps, assumptions, and dependencies early
- Participate in client meetings, discovery sessions, and solution discussions
- Support testing and validation by ensuring delivered solutions meet business expectations
- Act as an advocate for both the client and the delivery team
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role
- Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
- Ability to translate business concepts into technical-friendly documentation
- Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to ask the right questions and challenge assumptions constructively
- Comfort working across multiple clients and projects
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt in environments with evolving or incomplete requirements
- High emotional intelligence, humility, and self-awareness
- Curiosity and a desire to continuously improve processes and outcomes
- Experience working in a consulting environment
- Exposure to software development lifecycles
- Familiarity with .NET, web applications, or SQL-based systems
- NetForum AMS experience
- Association or nonprofit industry experience
- Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models
- Experience creating process diagrams or workflow documentation
- Relevant certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar)
