Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance & Engineering Manager leads and controls maintenance and reliability to ensure that equipment, and machinery are maintained efficiently, on time, and within budget. In addition, the incumbent provides leadership, mentoring, and training while supervising and coordinating the activities of the Engineering and Facility teams, and upholding the Company’s vision, values and strategy at all times.
- Lead the engineering/maintenance team in a way that safely and cost effectively implements projects, and the day-to-day maintenance plan from conception to handing over of quality projects/work to operations
- Lead the continuous improvement of maintenance systems and the adoption of maintenance excellence practices in the manufacturing areas that continually improve reliability performance on assets
- Manage the development and execution of capital plan
- Leadership and development of all departmental maintenance/engineering employees. Facilitate and manage the maintenance/engineering employee selection and orientation process
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Maintenance Manager Professional Certification (MMP) is an asset
- Working Knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system; JD Edwards experience is a plus
- Computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office programs
- 8+ years of experience in industrial settings, with maintenance management experience preferred
- Ability to engage, teach, mentor, coach, develop, delegate, and follow up
- Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work in a team environment (staff, operators, engineers, OEM’s and contractors)
- Analytical and detailed-oriented with a high level of commitment and self-motivated
- Experience with high-speed production equipment
