Civil Field Engineer

The Civil Field Engineer role involves providing project field engineering expertise, ensuring safety and quality control, and managing material and quantity verification for construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches
• Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures
• Initiates requisitions for field purchases
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment
• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required
• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
• Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
• Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development
• Reviews and approves inspection test plans
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals

Requirements:

• Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
• Owns safe, high-quality civil execution—expert knowledge of earthwork, grading, utilities, foundations, concrete, formwork, rebar, and embeds, with tight control of heavy equipment operations
• Plans and sequences civil work—drives mass earthwork, undergrounds, foundations, and slabs to protect access, interfaces, and downstream trades
• Leads civil craft and subcontractors—sets production targets, enforces standards, manages equipment and crews, and develops foremen and general foremen
• Controls cost, schedule, and quality—understands quantities, production rates, and rework drivers; anticipates risk and corrects early
• Coordinates across disciplines—aligns with survey, structural, MEP, and AWP teams to ensure layout accuracy and clean handoffs
• Experience in semiconductor, EV battery, data centers, or Pharmaceuticals preferred
• Hands-on implementation of AWP and OSM strategies; experience with project setup, system turnover, and completion preferred
• Proficiency with digital execution tools, 4D/5D planning, and analytics preferred
