Senior Product Manager - Margin - Regulatory

Kraken is a mission-focused company rooted in crypto values, seeking to accelerate global adoption of crypto for financial freedom and inclusion. The Senior Product Manager will act as an individual contributor, partnering with Legal and Compliance to define and deliver compliant margin products while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure the offerings are secure and scalable.

Responsibilities:

• Act as an individual contributor with the opportunity to grow into broader ownership as our product and regulatory landscape evolves
• Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs to define and deliver regionally compliant margin products
• Work directly with US regulators and legal experts to explore licensing pathways and frameworks (CFTC, state-level regimes, etc.)
• Drive the expansion of margin trading for US retail customers, developing strategies for nationwide or phased state-by-state launches
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, and trading operations to ensure Kraken’s margin offerings are secure, scalable, and intuitive
• Contribute to strategic initiatives that push the boundaries of what’s possible in regulated crypto trading, influencing product direction through 2026 and beyond
• Engage with EEA regulation (MiCA/MiFID) and other regional frameworks to help Kraken expand globally while maintaining compliance and innovation balance

Requirements:

• Ideally 4+ years in Product Management within crypto trading, brokerage, or TradFi margin/lending platforms
• Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of US financial regulation — particularly CFTC frameworks, state-by-state licensing, and retail customer protections
• Experience with MiCA/MiFID or equivalent EEA regulation a strong plus
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs teams to design and launch compliant financial products
• Strategic & Tactical Balance: You can dive deep into the technical details of trading systems, while maintaining a strategic view of market and regulatory opportunities
• Execution Ownership: Skilled in defining product requirements, prioritizing initiatives, and driving cross-functional teams to deliver impact
• User Empathy: Understands the needs of retail traders and can translate regulatory complexity into seamless, customer-first experiences
