Job Title: Corporate Development Analyst
Employment Status:
This is a 6-month contract position with an immediate start. The contract may or may not be extended or converted to employee status based on company business needs.
Job Overview:
Work closely with Head of Corporate Development and Investor Relations to support the company’s long-term growth strategy by identifying, evaluating, and executing inorganic opportunities such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic partnerships, investments, and joint ventures. This role involves heavy financial modeling, market research, due diligence support, and cross-functional collaboration to provide data-driven recommendations to executive leadership, under line manager supervision. The position offers significant exposure to high-impact strategic decisions and C-suite interactions in a fast-paced, analytical environment. Additional and highly specialized responsibilities include interacting with investors and other biotech market stakeholders to generate long-term client referrals for Caidya.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate will support corporate development initiatives including market research, financial analysis, transaction support, and stakeholder engagement.
Market Research and Strategic Analysis
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis — Monitor industry trends, track competitors, identify emerging opportunities, new markets, technologies, or customer segments to spot potential growth areas.
• Support Identifying and screening potential acquisition targets or partners — Source deals by researching companies, building target lists, evaluating strategic fit, product synergies, and initial viability.
• Conduct strategic and ad-hoc analyses — Perform build-vs-buy evaluations, cost-benefit analyses, scenario modeling, or other high-priority projects to inform long-term growth strategy.
• Help Identify ways to utilize technology and AI to speed up key work processes.
Financial Analysis and Transaction Support
• Build and maintain financial models — Create detailed Excel-based models (DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, accretion/dilution, synergy estimates) to evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, divestitures, joint ventures, or partnerships.
• Perform valuation analysis — Assess target company valuations using multiple methods to determine fair value, ROI, and deal feasibility.
• Support due diligence processes on live M&A deals — Assist in comprehensive reviews (financial, operational, legal, commercial) of targets; coordinate with internal teams (finance, legal, operations) and external advisors; identify risks, synergies, and integration issues.
• Assist in deal execution and negotiation support on live M&A deals — Help structure transactions, track deal progress, manage data rooms, and support negotiations or integration planning post-deal.
• Track and manage the deal pipeline — Maintain databases or tracking systems for opportunities, update status, and ensure efficient flow from sourcing to execution.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
• Prepare presentations and materials — Develop investment memos, pitch decks, executive summaries, board presentations, and other materials to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership, executives, or the board.
• Collaborate cross-functionally — Work closely with finance, strategy, legal, product/business units, and external parties (investment bankers, consultants) to align initiatives with company goals.
• Interact with investors on customer referrals — Support engagement with current or prospective investors (e.g., venture capitalists, private equity firms, or strategic investors) by facilitating or following up on customer referrals; identify high-value customers who can introduce potential acquisition targets, strategic partners, or co-investment opportunities; prepare briefing materials or outreach for investor networks to generate warm leads; track referral outcomes and report on how customer-driven introductions contribute to the deal pipeline or strategic growth initiatives.
• Support broader investor and stakeholder engagement — Assist in preparing materials for investor updates related to growth strategy, M&A activity, or partnership announcements; occasionally participate in investor meetings or conferences to discuss strategic opportunities derived from customer ecosystems.

Job Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree (often in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related field); MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred for progression.
Experience
• 1–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate development / M&A, or related analytical roles.
