The Opportunity
The Charge Data Capture Specialist is responsible for accurately collecting and entering charge data related to patient services and procedures. This role ensures compliance with billing regulations and optimizes revenue cycle processes by maintaining accurate records and facilitating timely billing.
Your Impact
- Collect, verify, and enter charge data into the billing system.
- Ensure accuracy of coding for medical procedures and services.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve discrepancies in charge data.
- Maintain detailed records of services rendered and charges incurred.
- Monitor charge capture processes to identify and address issues or trends.
- Assist in the training of staff on charge capture procedures and best practices.
- Work closely with billing and coding departments to ensure timely and accurate claims submission.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and payer requirements.
- Generate reports to analyze charge capture performance and compliance.
Who You Are
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in charge capture, billing, or a related field.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (CPT, ICD-10), and billing practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
