DyStar is a leading specialty chemical company with a heritage of more than a century in product development and innovation from the textile industry. They are seeking a Senior Account Manager for their consumer chemicals division to lead sales and build key relationships with sugar producers and potato processors. The successful candidate will develop and implement sales strategies, grow territory, and ensure customer satisfaction in the food industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop plans to grow territory by achieving new business. Visit customers and key targets at regular intervals to identify needs and sales opportunities
- Build and develop customer relationships as a platform for sustainable business and control expenses within the area of responsibility
- Align account information and product and services strategies with Sales Manager, ensuring DyStar is positioned to meet new market and industry demands
- Submit reports on sales activity regularly in the CRM software and maintain clear and updated records for all leads and customers
- Develop and communicate customer demand forecasting to feed Sales Team and internal supply chain planning functions
- Recapture lost sales and expand sales of products at assigned customer according to business goals. Drive key initiatives for sales pipeline growth
- Alignment of customer programs by preparing program account agreements that detail specific products and services and timelines
- Provide customers with balanced product recommendations from company’s product range to meet industry needs
- Assure Pricing files and customer profiles of all assigned customers are up to date as well as all critical customer information is maintained in CRM
- Review and communicate customer quality issues to the team and overseeing their resolution to assure customer satisfaction in accordance with ISO procedures
- Review complaint resolution with customer contact to assure customer satisfaction
- Develop required data for planning and budgeting purposes
- Travel 30 – 40%
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in the chemicals industry
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in processing aids for the food industry, including food grade defoaming agents (defoamers/antifoams)
- 10-15+ most recent years in the chemicals industry
- Selling experience must be related to consumer products, specifically food grade defoaming agents (defoamers)
- Minimum 5-7 most recent years in food related chemicals markets
- Must have working knowledge of CRM tools, formal call planning and call reporting, formal pre-call planning and experience with key account planning tools
- Must have organization, planning, decision making, problem solving, project management, etc
- Excellent computer, communication and writing skills are necessary
- BS/BA degree, preferably technology/science related degree
