Orbis International is a global organization focused on improving healthcare through technology. The Senior Project Manager- Learning Experience oversees online course development for medical professionals, managing course creation, updates, and translations while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and maintain a structured intake and prioritization process for new course concepts, working closely with diverse stakeholders to balance donor priorities, Orbis program needs, and the evolving needs of Cybersight learners
- Facilitate requirements gathering and alignment on goals across stakeholders
- Establish project governance frameworks including documentation standards and QA checkpoints
- Establish a systematic audit process with clinical experts and instructional designers to review existing courses and plan updates based on new evidence, evolving techniques, and learner needs
- Manage end-to-end projects for approximately 5 new online courses per year and for course localization initiatives
- Create detailed project schedules, risk logs, and communication plans; mitigate risks and maintain momentum
- Coordinate cross-functional contributors including SMEs, content creators, designers, translators, and vendors, including managing contracts and payments
- Serve as the central communication point for all course development activities
- Manage project budgets and track spending
- Partner with instructional designers and clinical experts to shape course objectives and structure
- Ensure all learning content meets quality, accessibility, and relevance standards for global LMIC contexts
- Support development and/or sourcing of multimedia components (images, illustrations, video, assessments)
- Coordinate with course developers to test, upload, and configure courses in the LMS
- Validate course usability across devices and connectivity conditions
- Collaborate on process improvements and relevant platform enhancements
- Oversee coordinated launch plans including communications and stakeholder alignment
- Monitor early performance, troubleshoot issues, and guide post-launch updates
- Use learner analytics and feedback to refine development processes and inform future strategy
- Lead and model best-practice project management approaches for Orbis staff involved in course development, ensuring teams adopt effective workflows and high standards
- Contribute to organizational learning around digital education trends and tools
- Support hybrid or fully online Orbis training programs as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in project management, instructional design, education technology, public health, or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing digital content or educational media projects
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in a remote setting
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and digital course development processes
- Strong organizational and planning skills; proven ability to manage multiple projects and wrangle stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across cultures and disciplines
- Proactive problem-solving and risk mitigation skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Enthusiasm for technology-enabled learning, global health, and 'technology for good.'
- Ability to travel internationally 1–2 times per year
- Experience in online learning, instructional design, or medical/clinical education preferred
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum) desirable
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus
