MT Group is a biospecimen collection company that partners with clinical sites worldwide to support translational research and biomarker discovery. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to cultivate and grow relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies across Southern California, focusing on understanding client needs and managing collection opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with translational scientists, biomarker leads, and procurement teams at target accounts across the Southern California life sciences ecosystem
- Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective collection opportunities across oncology, immunology, and other therapeutic areas
- Draft and deliver feasibility assessments that reflect real operational capabilities and timelines
- Develop pricing and quotes in collaboration with leadership
- Track project progress and communicate proactively with customers throughout the collection lifecycle
- Coordinate closely with our operations and broader business development team to ensure successful project execution
- Travel regularly to customer sites for face-to-face meetings
Requirements:
- Deep existing relationships at Southern California pharmaceutical and biotech companies—people who will take your call
- A background in biological research at the BS, MS, or PhD level; you've worked in a lab, run assays, or been close enough to the science to understand what researchers actually need
- Solid understanding of translational research, biomarkers, and the clinical contexts in which samples are used
- Comfort with the details: you'll write feasibilities, set pricing, and manage project specifics, not hand them off to someone else
- Proven track record of success working remotely with minimal supervision
- Genuine curiosity about the science and a desire to keep learning
- High attention to detail and strong written communication skills
- Experience in biospecimen sales is a plus but not required
