
Job Description
Directs, plans, organizes and evaluates the staff and activities of the health sciences library.
Prepares and monitors budget and expenses. Liaises with users, including patient care,
research, educational, performance improvement and administration, to determine information
needs; conduct or seek grants to support special library projects.
Job Responsibility
1.Collaborates with the Corporate Director of Libraries and the librarian team in planning, marketing, and evaluating library services and provision of electronic resources.
2.Oversees the development, coordination, integration, communication and implementation of library programs to ensure access, retrieval, and delivery of information and knowledge based resources to all library users electronically and
on paper. 3.Provides reference and education services including expert literature searches, systematic review services, and instruction in the use of the library resources.
4.Develops and oversees financial management including budget and expenses to ensure optimal library resources.
5.Ensures adequate scheduling and assigns responsibilities to ensure an equitable distribution of work.
6.Builds and maintains productive inter/intra departmental work relationships (i.e. Patient Care, Research, Education, Administration, etc.) to determine information
needs and optimize operations.
7.May conduct or seek grant support for special projects designed to maximize quality and availability of library resources.
8.Oversees compliance with government and agency regulations.
9.Uses knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of functional objectives and principles to achieve goals in innovative ways. Problems addressed are of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Job Qualification
•Master of Library Science Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
•5-7 years of relevant experience and progressive experience where team
leadership was demonstrated, required.
