About the role:
The Asst VP, Clinic Operations is responsible for oversight and leadership of the activities and functions of assigned clinics within Scripps Medical Foundation. Establishes and ensures achievement of the organization's strategic objective and participates in strategic planning for area of responsibility. Provides functional expertise essential to support site/department directors and managers and/or executive team. Oversees budget and accountable for growing the business. Directs standards of practice and process improvement activities. Directs policy and procedures formation for guiding and supporting the provisions of outpatient services. Works directly with Medical Group physicians/providers to ensure quality of care and timely response to medical issues. Ensures collaborative relationship between providers and operations for the delivery of patient care and service. Provides administrative and operational oversight and direction for assigned services, programs, departments, and patient care centers. Ensures appropriate leadership accountability related to compliance, quality, service excellence, management development, workforce engagement, and shared decision making. Participates in long and short term strategic planning for clinical operations with the Chief Executive and ensures achievement of strategic objectives. Oversees site, organization, and/or systemwide performance improvement activities and directs standards of practice. Maintains budget responsibility for assigned clinics and supports financial objectives.
The ideal candidate is someone with considerable Ambulatory Care experience in Primary Care, LEAN working experience and an understanding of Population Health.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, or related field.
Approximately eight to ten years of progressively broadening assignments in health care, preferably in an outpatient environment. Outstanding strategic-planning and problem solving capabilities.
Proven track record as effective leader in a high performance organization.
Skill and experience in improving efficiency while planning for the needs of a dynamic, growth-oriented company.
The ability to apply effective project management skills to lead functional or strategic initiatives. Must have highly effective interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively represent the system.
