Full Stack Engineer

Arlow is a mission-driven startup focused on building technology that helps older adults and their families stay connected and organized. They are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with a strong frontend orientation to design and deliver high-quality user experiences while collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain high-quality frontend experiences across web and mobile interfaces
• Work closely with product and design to implement intuitive, scalable user interfaces
• Develop full-stack features spanning frontend components, APIs, and backend services
• Contribute to core platform capabilities that support older adults, caregivers, and families as they coordinate care and daily life
• Collaborate with internal engineers and external development partners to design, build, and refine core platform functionality
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern development frameworks and tools
• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of our platform as it scales
• Work with platform and infrastructure teams to deploy features reliably
• Own and advance testing practices across the product, including automated UI, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Implement test automation using tools such as Maestro for mobile and end-to-end workflows
• Establish best practices for product reliability, regression testing, and release quality
• Work with the team to maintain a high bar for usability, performance, and stability
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to deliver features aligned with our roadmap
• Collaborate with internal and external engineers to ensure high-quality implementation and outcomes
• Contribute to engineering practices that prioritize speed, product quality, and long-term maintainability
• Ensure privacy, security, and compliance considerations are integrated into system design and development
• Contribute to standards around testing, monitoring, and operational reliability
• Anticipate technical risks and design systems that minimize technical debt while enabling rapid product iteration

Requirements:

• 5–8+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer building and shipping production applications
• Experience working in TypeScript-based environments
• Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks, particularly React, React Native, and Next.js
• Comfortable working across the stack, including frontend applications, APIs, and backend services
• Experience building consumer-facing products with high expectations for usability, performance, and reliability
• Experience implementing automated testing strategies, including UI, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Maestro, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools
• Experience collaborating closely with product managers and designers to translate product ideas into shipped features
• Ability to move quickly while maintaining strong engineering standards, balancing speed, quality, and maintainability
