Build the Future of Power in Alaska
MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial MRO Sales Representative to lead growth across the Alaska region. This is an opportunity for a self-directed sales professional who thrives on building new markets, developing long-term strategies, and driving results in complex environments.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, confident, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy. The right candidate enjoys identifying opportunities before they formally exist, engaging customers early in their planning cycles, and helping shape technical solutions for marine, utility, industrial, and remote power generation applications.
You’ll be responsible for building relationships, identifying opportunities, and closing complex projects across Alaska’s unique operating landscape—where innovation, resilience, and forward thinking are essential.
What You’ll Do
- Identify, develop, and close business opportunities across marine, utility, industrial, and power generation markets throughout Alaska.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, marine operators, industrial customers, EPCs, shipyards, engineers, and government agencies.
- Engage customers early in project planning, positioning technical solutions before formal requests for quotation.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies that drive long-term revenue growth and market expansion.
- Navigate Alaska’s unique requirements including remote power systems, microgrids, marine propulsion, harsh environments, and regulatory considerations.
- Deliver clear, direct technical and commercial presentations tailored to customer needs and operating environments.
- Maintain and advance opportunities within the CRM and sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and opportunity management.
- Collaborate with service teams to develop lifecycle support strategies, maintenance planning, and long-term service partnerships.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows within Alaska’s marine and power sectors.
- Provide leadership with market intelligence, pipeline visibility, and strategic feedback from the field.
Who Thrives in This Role
This role is best suited for a Trailblazer-type professional—someone who naturally drives initiatives forward, thrives in dynamic environments, and enjoys shaping strategy while executing results.
Successful candidates typically demonstrate:
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the confidence to pursue opportunities and make informed decisions.
- Strategic thinking with a focus on medium- to long-term growth and market development.
- Comfort operating in environments with changing priorities, evolving opportunities, and complex customer challenges.
- Ability to communicate in a direct, factual, and solutions-focused manner.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to evaluate technical and commercial solutions.
- High energy and drive, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- A self-motivated approach that allows them to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- The discipline to build systems and processes that help manage opportunities, projects, and customer relationships effectively.
This position offers significant ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape regional strategy, making it well suited for professionals who prefer freedom to execute rather than highly structured or micromanaged environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with strong business and technical acumen.
- Ability to operate effectively as both an independent contributor and collaborative team member.
- Experience in marine and/or power generation markets, particularly in remote or harsh operating environments.
- Strong MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) experience, including:
- Aftermarket services
- Lifecycle support
- Parts strategies
- Outage planning
- Long-term service agreements
- Experience with controls, automation, or engineered systems strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Woodward systems is an advantage.
- Proven track record of identifying, qualifying, pursuing, and closing complex technical sales opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across utilities, marine operators, industrial customers, EPCs, and government entities.
- Willingness to travel 50–60%, including extensive travel throughout Alaska.
- Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- Seven (7) additional years of relevant experience in outside sales and application engineering supporting technical solutions may be considered in lieu of a degree.
