FGP is partnering with a manufacturer that produces and distributes specialized seasonal lawn and garden products. The role focuses on expanding relationships with large commercial landscaping and lawn care organizations, identifying and closing new national and regional accounts while expanding business within existing strategic customers.
Responsibilities:
- Own the full business development cycle including prospecting, relationship development, and closing new national and regional customer accounts
- Develop and execute strategic go-to-market plans to grow revenue within the Lawn & Garden commercial end-user segment
- Identify and network into large organizations to establish relationships with key decision makers and influencers
- Grow wallet share within existing strategic accounts while identifying new opportunities for expansion
- Develop and present customer proposals, product solutions, and growth strategies that align with customer objectives
- Lead product presentations and communicate product innovation, company strategy, and partnership opportunities
- Manage forecasting, sales planning, and KPI tracking for assigned accounts
- Analyze customer performance metrics, trends, and purchasing behavior to recommend product assortment and growth strategies
- Coordinate closely with internal teams including sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, and customer service to execute customer programs
- Monitor competitive activity, pricing trends, and market dynamics and provide recommendations for growth strategies
- Support product launches, trade show activity, and strategic customer engagement initiatives
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, call reports, and expense reporting
Requirements:
- Experience calling on large multi-state landscaping companies or similar commercial lawn care organizations is required
- 3–5+ years of business development or national/regional account management experience selling commercial lawn and garden, outdoor power equipment, or seasonal outdoor products
- Demonstrated success prospecting and closing new national or regional accounts
- Experience managing and growing large commercial customers that purchase products in bulk volumes
- Strong hunter mentality with the ability to build pipelines and win new business
- Experience working with organizations such as large landscaping contractors, commercial grounds maintenance companies, or OEM manufacturers in the outdoor equipment industry
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and navigate complex buying organizations
- Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel to analyze customer performance, pricing, and forecasting
- Experience building and presenting customer presentations and proposals in PowerPoint
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-directed and comfortable working remotely while managing a national territory
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred
