Sorenson Communications, LLC is an industry leading provider of language services for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing. The Senior Technical Program Manager for AST leads the planning and execution of complex programs, coordinating work across multiple teams to ensure initiatives move from concept to deployment in a structured manner.
Responsibilities:
- Lead AST-Wide Strategic Programs
- Lead the planning and execution of AST’s highest-priority cross-functional initiatives
- Translate strategic objectives into structured program plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes
- Drive execution cadence, decision-making clarity, and delivery discipline across multiple teams
- Coordinate Global Programs Across AST and Hand Talk (Brazil)
- Lead initiatives involving both AST’s global teams and the Hand Talk team in Brazil
- Coordinate across organizations with different product maturity, architectures, and operating models
- Ensure that learnings from Hand Talk’s revenue-generating business are captured and intentionally applied to AST’s scalable global platform strategy
- Build effective operating rhythms across distributed teams and time zones
- Manage Sorenson Mainline Product and Engineering Dependencies
- Own cross-org coordination for programs that depend on Sorenson’s mainline Product and Engineering teams (platforms, shared services, integration points, identity/security requirements, tooling, data systems, and release trains)
- Establish and maintain a clear dependency map across AST and Sorenson mainline teams
- Drive alignment on sequencing, commitments, and handoffs to ensure AST programs are not blocked by shared-platform or roadmap dependencies
- Create clear interfaces (technical and process) to enable AST to move quickly while remaining aligned with enterprise standards and constraints
- Coordinate Product Development and AI/ML Delivery
- Partner with Engineering and AI/ML leaders to coordinate delivery across multiple technical teams
- Support transitions from research production customer deployment, including readiness and operationalization
- Ensure cross-team integration, quality, and delivery consistency
- Align Technical Delivery with Commercialization
- Ensure AST programs incorporate downstream requirements (deployment, operations, GTM enablement, customer readiness)
- Coordinate milestones so that product readiness, operational readiness, and market readiness evolve together
- Align program timelines to commercialization plans and external commitments when applicable
- Maintain Executive Program Visibility
- Provide structured reporting on program progress, risks, dependencies, and decision points
- Identify risks early (especially cross-org risks) and drive mitigation plans
- Ensure leadership has the information necessary to make timely tradeoffs and unblock execution
- Drive Cross-Organizational Alignment
- Facilitate collaboration across AST, Hand Talk, Sorenson mainline engineering/product teams, and GTM stakeholders
- Resolve conflicts, clarify ownership, and maintain forward momentum in high-dependency environments
- Build trust and operating clarity across organizations that may have competing priorities
- Improve Delivery Systems and Execution Predictability
- Identify opportunities to improve how AST plans, tracks, and executes large initiatives
- Implement tools, frameworks, and operating rhythms that improve transparency and predictability
- Raise the overall execution maturity of AST through continuous improvement
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of a 4 Year / Bachelors Degree In Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum Certification In PMP, Agile (Scrum, Kanban), ITIL, or other relevant project management methodologies
- 10 Years leading complex programs in product-driven technology organizations
- 5 Years experience in and proven track record of successfully leading large and complex technology projects
- Exceptional program leadership, stakeholder management, and execution discipline
- Proven ability to influence without authority across senior technical and business leaders
- Strong systems thinking and comfort working across complex technical domains
- Excellent executive communication: crisp status, clear asks, fast escalation
- Strong prioritization and risk management, especially in high-dependency environments
- Ability to build durable operating rhythms across distributed organizations and time zones
- AI/ML product delivery programs (training-to-production lifecycle, evaluation, deployment readiness)
- Coordinating with enterprise platform teams and shared services
