Job Description
This position is eligible for an additional sign-on bonus.
The Assistant Health Services Administrator supports the day-to-day operation of health services within the facility and assists in maintaining organized, compliant, and accessible health care services for patients. Working in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator, Clinical Director, and Nurse Manager, the role helps coordinate multidisciplinary health services, support consistent standards of care, and maintain readiness for health services delivery, training, documentation, and quality activities.
The role is focused on supporting health services operations in a manner consistent with applicable policies, accreditation requirements, laws, regulations, and contract requirements. The position also supports coordination of resources, supplies, scheduling, staff communication, and patient care related administrative processes necessary for safe and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing day-to-day health services operations within the facility.
- Support the organization and delivery of health care services in compliance with applicable policies, laws, regulations, detention standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator, Clinical Director, and Nurse Manager to establish and maintain processes and procedures that support consistent access to quality health care services for patients.
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders and outside agencies, as applicable to health services operations.
- Assist in developing schedules and operational plans to accomplish the health services mission.
- Assist in discussing program plans with assigned providers and ancillary staff.
- Assist in monitoring the annual budget for on-site and off-site medical services.
- Assist in planning and coordinating purchases and contracts for supplies, equipment, specialty care, and ancillary services.
- Maintain par inventory levels for health services supplies and equipment.
- Support health-related assessment data entry at admission and health status documentation in the electronic health record and other required records, as applicable.
- Organize or coordinate training for medical personnel in accordance with applicable medical program standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational requirements.
- Support required compliance education and completion of assigned regulatory and organizational training requirements.
- Exercise sound judgment, analysis, and decision-making when assigning or coordinating tasks across the multidisciplinary workforce.
- Support preparedness for medical emergencies by helping ensure staff training, procedures, and response processes align with contract requirements.
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Three years of leadership background and two years management of programs and services experience.
- Management ability to delegate authority, evaluate and oversee people and programs, recognize and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of the interrelationships and interdependencies among various medical and administrative services and programs.
- If holds a clinical license, employee is responsible to ensure that license is in good standing.
Education Required:
- Graduate Education: Master’s degree - hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration OR
- Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following:
- Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems
- Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups
- Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
Physical Requirements:
- This position is considered hazardous duty.
- Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.
- Required to jog/fast walk up to ¼ mile.
- Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.
- Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
- Must have the ability to assist sick, injured, or aging patients or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling, or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).
- Must be able to see, hear and smell with aids if necessary.
- Must be able to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.
- Must perform the duties of my job in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- Average manual dexterity for computer operation.
- Phone or computer use for extended periods of time.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental U.S.
- Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment.
- Be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the U.S. for permanent residence.
- Have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty).
- Successfully engage in and complete a thorough Background Investigation.
- Poses or have ability to obtain required security clearances.
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

Compensation Disclaimer:
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
