What You’ll Do as a Senior Survey Technician
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all phases of complex survey projects, including multi-discipline infrastructure, large boundary retracements, and LiDAR data integration.
- Lead QA/QC reviews and approve the technical quality of survey base maps and deliverables prepared by Survey Technicians, serving as a trusted technical resource to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor and inform the Project Surveyor of the project’s compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations/requirements.
- Apply advanced surveying expertise to develop innovative, practical solutions for internal teams and external clients.
- Develop high-quality survey base mapping and digital terrain models (DTMs) from field-collected survey data.
- Produce survey deliverables using 3D data from terrestrial laser scanning and drone-mounted LiDAR sensors.
- Prepare Right-of-Way plans and easement or acquisition mapping in accordance with municipal and agency standards.
- Advance and support firmwide capabilities in MicroStation and OpenRoads, including training and technical support for staff using survey software and field equipment.
- Mentor and coach survey technicians and support staff, sharing technical knowledge and best practices to elevate team performance.
- Support onboarding, ongoing coaching, and performance feedback for survey support staff.
- Ensure project deliverables meet company QA standards and are delivered on schedule.
Requirements
What You Bring, as a Survey Technician
- Associate’s degree in surveying (or related field)
- 5-10 years of surveying experience preferred.
- Knowledge of land surveying mathematical principles, terminology, and field survey methods required.
- Extensive experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/Open Roads required.

Hourly Range $33 to $37/hr
