Tufts Medicine is seeking a Project Manager III to oversee operational aspects of complex projects from initiation through completion. The role involves managing project schedules, budgets, and communication between teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees a portfolio of complex projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategies
- Develops comprehensive project plans for each project, considering objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements
- Allocates resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, across multiple complex projects
- Identifies, assesses, and manages risks and issues across complex projects. Develops risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Identifies and engages stakeholders at various levels of the organization and external partners
- Develops strong relationships, manages expectations, and communicates project progress, risks, and issues effectively
- Develops and manages project budgets for complex projects
- Regularly reviews financial reports and implements cost-saving measures where applicable
- Establishes and enforces quality standards and processes for complex projects
- Assesses change requests, evaluates their impact on project scope, timelines, and resources
- Communicates changes to stakeholders, obtains approvals, and ensures proper implementation
- Develops and delivers clear and concise project communications to stakeholders, including project status reports, progress updates, and milestone achievements
- Leads and motivates project teams by providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment
- Encourages knowledge sharing, promotes cross-functional collaboration, and resolves conflicts as they arise
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies, standards, and industry regulations
- Establishes project governance frameworks and ensures adherence to project management methodologies
- May oversee vendor selection and contract negotiation
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the project management practice
- Conducts lessons learned sessions, captures best practices, and implements process enhancements to optimize project delivery
- Identifies and manages project escalations, resolving critical issues and conflicts that may impact project timelines, scope, or stakeholder satisfaction
- Collaborates with senior management and/or stakeholders to address project challenges and seek timely resolutions
- Provides guidance and mentorship to junior project managers and project team members
- Prioritizes projects based on their strategic value, resource availability, and interdependencies
- Supports their professional development, fosters skill growth, and promotes knowledge transfer within the project management team
- Monitors vendor performance, manages contracts, and resolves any vendor-related issues or disputes
- Facilitates effective communication channels across project teams and stakeholders
- Monitors project deliverables to ensure they meet the defined quality criteria
- Conducts regular quality assessments and implements corrective actions as needed
- Optimizes resource utilization to ensure project success while managing conflicts and competing demands
- Executes projects in accordance with established plans, managing changes and adapting as necessary
- Monitors and updates risk registers, proactively addressing potential obstacles to project success
- Monitors and controls project expenses, ensuring adherence to financial constraints
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Three (3) years of experience in a project management role
- Project Management certification, PMP, or equivalent
