Moniepoint is a global fintech building modern financial services for millions of people and businesses across high-growth markets. They are seeking a strategic and hands-on Data Science Manager (Marketing) to lead data initiatives, drive data strategy, and collaborate with the Marketing team to execute their marketing strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Be a key leader in building a discipline of exceptional data scientists and analysts
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy - design what world class looks like
- Hire, develop, and retain a high performing team of data professionals
- Champion and drive a culture of rigorous experimentation, including A/B testing, to inform product development and business decisions
- Oversee the end-to-end ownership, design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable data pipelines
- Drive the generation of actionable insights from data to support various business functions, including product, marketing, risk, and operations
- Liaise with marketing, product, and engineering managers to ensure we collect the right data for meaningful business insights
- Bring data leadership and rigour to our approach to product development
- Build a strategic understanding of the business and structure complex projects to bring them to life
Requirements:
- Proven experience (typically 8+ years overall and +2 years in management / in data leadership roles)
- Strong focus on strategy, execution, and team management
- Expertise in experimentation methodologies and A/B testing frameworks (multivariate, geo-holdouts, etc, variance reduction techniques)
- Ability to create data pipelines (including designing/architecting them - ETL/ELT) - especially using cloud platforms (we use Clickhouse and Bigquery here)
- Confidence with data Science tools languages (Python and SQL)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working in marketing and using advertising data from platforms such as Facebook
