Job Title: Working Retiree – Business Services Senior Professional

Job Summary:
The Business Services Professional plays a pivotal role in supporting the financial and administrative management of a large rehabilitation science research portfolio. This position ensures compliance with institutional, federal, and sponsor regulations while providing strategic financial oversight and operational support to the principal investigator, other faculty and administrative staff working on university and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget & Financial Management
· Assist with developing annual budget forecasts and salary distribution plans
· Assist with regular review of expenditures
Human Resources Management
· Assist with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
· Assist with payroll issue resolution and personnel report reviews
RESTORE Administration
· Assist with administrative workflows such as lab operations, inventories, and facilities work orders
· Assist VA administrative team regarding logistics and operations for research projects
· Assist with special projects as required to maintain smooth and efficient operations
Work Location:
Remote – this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, healthcare administration, public administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
· Two years of professional-level experience in business operations and financial oversight with proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and tight deadlines, while ensuring timely delivery and effective communication across all levels.
· Experience with grant financial management.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a related field.
· Two years of professional-level experience in business operations and financial oversight with demonstrated ability managing complex projects, multiple deadlines and various stakeholders.
· Experience with grant financial management.
· Experience working in an academic or research setting.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $40-42/hour.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
