Project Engineer Specialist

The Senior Specialist, Project Engineering will oversee technical development activities, ensuring they meet all technical, cost, and schedule requirements while managing risks and maintaining effective communication with customers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering leadership to cross-functional teams to resolve design and integration challenges effectively
• Lead the engineering team in creating and delivering formal design review presentations, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR
• Monitor engineering performance metrics and present program status updates to senior engineering leadership on a monthly basis
• Track and analyze cost and schedule performance, explaining variances and developing corrective actions to meet program targets
• Lead bid/proposal efforts, including generating basis of estimates (BOE) and technical volumes in response to customer ROMs, RFIs, and RFPs
• Establish and utilize bid tools during proposal development, ensuring timely completion and accuracy
• Ensure all program and proposal activities comply with established engineering processes and policies
• Maintain compliance with performance, reliability, and safety standards across all engineering activities
• Travel as required to meet business needs, including customer visits and project site visits

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of six years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least four years of experience
• Minimum of ten years of related experience without a degree is also considered
• Demonstrated experience in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget
• Prior experience in bid and proposal development
• Familiarity with engineering disciplines such as aerospace (mechanical, electrical, flight sciences), software/hardware engineering, systems engineering (including test engineering), or project engineering
• Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance, which mandates U.S. citizenship
• Leadership experience as a task leader, IPT leader, or functional manager
• Solid understanding of engineering processes
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
