The role involves analyzing processes, gathering requirements, and delivering solutions to improve customer experience and organizational performance.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct operational, financial, and customer data analysis to support decision‑making and performance improvement
- Lead requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into clear functional and technical documentation
- Support projects using waterfall and agile software development lifecycle methodologies, including user story creation, sprint planning, and UAT coordination
- Map and optimize business processes across customer service, billing, field operations, and grid operations
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics to support forecasting, regulatory filings, and operational insights
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams on system enhancements and implementations (OMS, CIS, GIS, AMI, EAM)
- Assist with regulatory and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements
- Facilitate communication between technical and non‑technical stakeholders to ensure project alignment and clarity
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience in a technology, operations, or data‑driven environment
- Strong knowledge of waterfall and agile SDLC methodologies
- Experience creating business requirements, user stories, process maps, and acceptance criteria
- Proficiency with analytical tools such as SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Excel, ADO, or similar platforms
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities
- Experience in the electric utility industry (generation, transmission, or distribution) is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, information systems, data analytics, or a related field
- Familiarity with utility systems such as OMS, CIS, GIS, AMI, or EAM
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (NERC, FERC, state utility commissions) and utility operations terminology
