Advocate Aurora Health is the third-largest nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, created from the combination of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. They are seeking an IT Business Intelligence Analyst to analyze and interpret data, create reports, and mentor team members in BI solutions.
Responsibilities:
- With minimal supervision, Independently analyze and interpret administrative data, clinical data, and government quality data and measures, and appropriately apply statistical methods
- Accurately create Enterprise recurring and ad hoc reports and supporting materials within established deadlines utilizing best practice data storytelling tools
- Train, mentor, and educate end users on organizational measurements and BI solutions using established training materials
- Design, administer, and maintain standardized content on key websites and BI reporting solutions with minimal oversight
- Provide accurate documentation for organizational measurements and BI reporting solutions
- Analyze and validate data and measurements from source to BI reporting solution
- Identifies and manages change effectively and efficiently in a changing environment through use of standard processes and tools. Works with teammates to utilize change management processes and tools to create plans to support adoption of changes required by project or initiative
- Stay abreast of healthcare environment, EHR, ERP, Cloud, and BI technology, and industry trends to build professional skills and drive innovation
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance in the analysis and development of Enterprise BI solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, OR equivalent experience in Epic or Workday applications database query/report writing (SQL, Snowflake), and experience with BI Tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
- Typically requires 2-4 years of experience in Business Intelligence tools and healthcare knowledge (Clinical, Quality or ERP data experience)
- Communicate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams at all organizational levels
- Exhibit ability to conduct independent analysis, including statistical analysis, on critical clinical, financial, ERP, and operational metrics within the organization
- Produce professional and detailed documentation to support educational and presentation initiatives
- Competent ability to create queries in SQL or other query language/systems
- Exhibit leadership qualities with a proactive attitude, a deep commitment to customer service excellence, and a profound understanding of healthcare systems and business processes
- Thoroughly understand business intelligence concepts and designs, data storytelling, data visualization, and database querying
- Knowledge of basic statistics
- Capable of working with minimal supervision and/or collaboratively, managing multiple projects, and implementing enterprise-wide solutions and standards
- Mentor and develop team members in the BI domain
- Expertise with Microsoft products
- Self-motivated, solution-focused, and able to function with minimal supervision
- Maintain technical currency and advanced certifications in specialized areas of responsibility
