Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is dedicated to empowering individuals to lead healthier lives. The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for driving revenue through lead generation, outbound prospecting, and supporting the field sales team by converting leads into new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively generate new business opportunities through lead conversion, cold calling, and strategic prospecting
- Maintain accurate records of outreach and follow-up activities in Salesforce to ensure seamless pipeline tracking
- Manage small opportunities (under $25K) from start to close; qualify and pass larger opportunities (over $25K) to field sales
- Collaborate with field sales teams to support regional campaigns, build Salesforce reports, and follow up on open opportunities
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
- Sales Experience: 6+ months in inside sales or a consultative phone sales environment
- Track Record of Success: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets
- Industry Knowledge: Passion for fitness, athletics, hospitality, or corporate wellness is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, engaging style
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a natural drive to sell
- Ability to handle rejection with resilience and tenacity
- Tech-savvy, proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Salesforce CRM or similar tools preferred
- Preferred candidates reside within the assigned sales territory or in the Chicagoland area
- Must have the discipline and ability to work effectively from home
