Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Network Implementation-related occupation.
- Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field, and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Network Implementation-related occupation.
- Position requires 1 year of experience in the following:
- Layer 1 optical transmission systems, including Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), for system design, architecture, and operation
- End-to-end system installation or commissioning of DWDM systems and IP routers
- New Product Introduction (NPI) processes or network product lifecycle management
- IP routing and switching system architecture for network installation and scaling
- Wide-Area Networking (WAN) protocols for troubleshooting and deployment
- Layer 1 optical transmission systems, including Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM), for system design, architecture, and operation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000 - $181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Position reports to the Google (Atlanta, GA) office and may allow for a hybrid schedule per Google policy.
Responsibilities
- Execute the deployment, maintenance, and operation of global private data networks to ensure reliability and scalability. Monitor network performance proactively, triaging issues, identifying root causes, and orchestrating repairs to maintain uptime.
- Deliver end-to-end network capacity by evaluating forecast data and utilizing design standards for migrations and expansions. Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including architectural designs, drawings, and operational plans across all projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lower operational costs, adopt new technologies, and improve network software and infrastructure standards.
- Lead quality assurance for network installations and direct technical resources to execute project priorities with minimal guidance.
- The position requires domestic travel of more than 10% annually.
