Resource9 is seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure that supports the functional objectives of the business. This role is critical for ensuring high availability, performance, and security across the LAN/WAN environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring a minimum of 99.95% availability across all LAN and WAN environments
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of enterprise local-area and wide-area network (LAN/WAN) solutions
- Provide primary support for data network transport services, including routine maintenance, software and hardware upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Optimize network performance and adapt designs in response to physical changes and evolving traffic requirements, ensuring resiliency at all critical network points
- Research, engineer, and implement new network technologies and tools to increase productivity, performance, and operational efficiency — leveraging the client's lab facilities to thoroughly test new applications and emerging technologies
- Collaborate with network engineers and cross-functional IT teams on daily operations and strategic projects; contribute to disaster recovery and business resumption initiatives as needed
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including policies, procedures, and configuration records, in full compliance with corporate security and audit regulations
- Provide technology consulting services to internal customers, translating business requirements into effective network-based solutions
- Lead and support project planning and coordination efforts, utilizing project management tools to track progress, manage issues, and report on outcomes
- Mentor and guide junior staff on technology changes, departmental standards, and best practices; serve as a consultative resource for data network problem resolution, system design, and integration strategies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field, with 7–9 years of experience in a routed, multi-platform network environment
- Demonstrated expertise in LAN/WAN design, network protocols, and infrastructure management
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are strongly preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered if clearly demonstrated
