IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients, and health & biosciences, delivering sustainable innovations that elevate everyday products. The Sales Account Manager will build and maintain relationships with customers in the fuel ethanol and carbohydrate processing industries, drive the adoption of IFF technologies, and develop strategic account plans to meet revenue targets.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers within the fuel ethanol and carbohydrate processing industries
- Drive the adoption and implementation of IFF technologies, including enzymes, yeast, and fermentation additives
- Identify, develop, and advance new business opportunities to meet or exceed revenue and growth targets
- Develop and execute strategic account plans, including preparation and negotiation of commercial proposals aligned with marketing strategies
- Gain a deep understanding of customer operations, including ethanol or comparable manufacturing processes, to uncover optimization and value-creation opportunities
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (technical service, supply chain, marketing, and research) to deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions
- Proactively address customer challenges, resolve issues, and identify unmet needs to strengthen long-term partnerships
- Effectively utilize internal sales, forecasting, and technical tools (e.g., Salesforce, forecasting systems, internal calculators, Microsoft Office)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline
- Experience within the ethanol, grain processing, agricultural, food, or chemical industries
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role, such as sales, account management, or technical service
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer operations and commercial drivers
- Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple levels, including senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and commercial concepts
- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with a demonstrated track record of success
- Willingness to travel up to 50%; this is a home-office-based role supporting customers primarily in the Midwest region
- Experience selling or supporting enzyme, yeast, or fermentation-based solutions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical insights into customer value
- Comfort working in a matrixed, global organization with cross-functional teams
