Transportation Design Engineer-2

VS Engineering is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their Northern & Lexington, KY team for a hybrid role focused on infrastructure projects. The role involves leading design calculations and project coordination while working closely with experienced project managers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead design calculations, reports, planning preparation, and roadway modeling for transportation projects
• Assist office leadership with proposal development and preliminary project evaluations
• Develop relationships with public agencies and other firms to enhance project coordination efforts
• Coordinate project tasks and communicate status updates to project managers and supervisors
• Support Indianapolis and regional offices on a variety of civil engineering infrastructure projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
• Engineer in Training (EIT) in Kentucky (required) or Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience in transportation project design (KYTC, county, and municipal projects preferred)
• At least 4 years of experience using MicroStation and Bentley OpenRoads Designer
• Technical proficiency in drainage software (StormCAD, CDSS)
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Technical proficiency in Adobe
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in civil engineering design
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients, agencies, and project teams
• Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency
