
General Description: The Program Manager ensures effective leadership and stewardship of organizational resources, driving sustainable growth and impact in support of the organization's mission. The Program Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the training, supervision, and professional development of Team Supervisors. They are instrumental in the development, implementation, and execution of contracts and grants awarded to the organization and are responsible for fostering and maintaining partnerships that align with and advance the organization’s objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Programmatic Leadership
· Act as a strategic partner to the Executive Director to design, develop, and implement programming that advances the organization’s mission.
· Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and other events to promote awareness of the organization's mission and impact.
Contract/Grant Management
· Provide strategic input on the development and implementation of grant proposals.
· Use data to monitor contract performance, program effectiveness, and to proactively identify areas for improvement.
· Develop strategies to address any challenges or barriers to contract compliance, maintaining a focus on achieving program outcomes.
· Promote fiscal responsibility to ensure grant funds are appropriately used to support program initiatives and organizational goals as required by funders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
· Foster a positive and supportive work environment for staff under supervision, promoting well-being, job satisfaction, and professional growth.
· Cultivate positive relationships with funders, partners, and community leaders to enhance collaboration and support for organizational initiatives.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the visibility and reputation of the organization.
· Support the development and implementation of outreach strategies aimed at expanding the organization's reach and impact.
Performance Management and Workforce Development:
· Provide training, regular and consistent supervision, and professional development to Team Supervisors.
· Lead performance management processes, including performance appraisals and personnel management, to ensure accountability and alignment with organizational goals.
· Implement strategies and initiatives to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
· Promote a solutions-oriented approach to addressing workplace challenges in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Perform any other duties assigned by senior management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs of the organization.
· Attend MCF-hosted events for families served throughout the State to demonstrate support for the work and staff.
· Lead with integrity, adopting a proactive, strengths-based approach that relies on open, transparent communication, and willingness to address challenges as they arise.
Qualifications:
· Lived experience as a primary caregiver of a loved one with a behavioral health disorder is required.
· Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a human services field, or a minimum 5 years of experience working with families caring for loved ones with behavioral health challenges. Master’s degree preferred.
· Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
· Strong organizational, written, and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to identify and resolve conflict.
· Ability to work with diverse staff in a strength-based way.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes.
· Can effectively utilize technology, including databases (Salesforce), and possesses working knowledge MS office suite.
· Mission-driven and flexible; able to anticipate issues and prioritize assignments.
· Ability to travel throughout the state and within the region regularly. Current Maryland driver’s license and insurance, and access to own vehicle.
· Successful completion of a background check.
