Capital One is a leading financial services company that has embraced technology and data to innovate in the industry. They are seeking a Director of Business Development to drive customer acquisition and establish strategic partnerships for their data security product, while collaborating with various teams to tailor solutions for clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers and design strategic partnerships for the data security product
- Identify, contact, and engage potential customers and partners, conduct thorough needs assessments, and tailor initial pitches to align with their specific requirements
- Lead the proposal process for prospective customers and partners, including negotiation strategies, pricing structures, and competitive benchmarking
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for new customers and strategic partners, overseeing account activities, resolving issues, and identifying cross-selling opportunities for the data security product
- Driving partnership discussions and contract negotiations with external partners
- Track and report on the progress of customer acquisition and partnership development efforts, including lead management, pipeline growth, sales forecasting, and key performance metrics
- Conduct in-depth market and industry analyses to pinpoint new customer segments and potential strategic partnership opportunities for the data security product
- Collaborate with Marketing & Analysis, Infrastructure Development, and Operations Teams to create customized solutions and partnership packages tailored to the specific needs of new customers and partners, ensuring adherence to all obligations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 5 years of experience in Software Sales
- At least 1 year of experience in new product development
- Experience building data security or data protection product partnerships from initial evaluation through execution and ongoing management
- Experience negotiating partnership agreements involving data security, privacy, or regulatory considerations in collaboration with legal and compliance teams
- Experience creating and supporting market expansion or new product initiatives
- Experience working with tech and SI partners to deliver joint value to end customers
- Demonstrated understanding of data security market
- 3+ years of experience with CRM and other GTM tools (for example: Salesforce or Zoominfo)
