MEDIT is seeking a Special Markets Development Director responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities in the dental industry. This role involves proactive market exploration, relationship development, and guiding cross-functional teams to drive commercial growth and strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively research and identify new markets, customer segments, and partnership opportunities
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified strategic prospects
- Lead outreach, discovery conversations, and early relationship building with universities, Dental Service Organizations, and industry partners
- Assess opportunity viability through market analysis, revenue modeling, and competitive positioning
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to surface new avenues for growth, leveraging Medit’s unique solutions
- Develop business cases and go-to-market recommendations for new opportunities
- Present opportunities to leadership and propose strategic investment paths for high-potential new accounts
- Close new strategic business opportunities; directly controlling Medit’s involvement in RFPs, customer trials, and contract wins
- Initiate and nurture relationships with prospective and active partners, driving alignment and execution
- Manage early-stage negotiations, concept validation, and program scoping
- Prepare presentations, proposals, and partnership briefs that articulate opportunity value
- Facilitate partnership projects to ensure commercial success
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Training, and Leadership teams to evaluate, prioritize, and execute new business initiatives
- Facilitate internal coordination to ensure smooth transition from discovery to activation
- Communicate opportunity status, risks, and progress through structured reporting and partner reviews with Executive Leadership
- Track opportunity pipeline metrics, commercial KPIs, and partnership outcomes
- Maintain CRM hygiene and reporting accuracy
- Provide periodic business development forecasts and insights to leadership
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Strategy, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, commercial strategy, or enterprise outreach
- Demonstrated success generating new opportunities and qualifying strategic partnerships
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with competitive assessments, and opportunity sizing
- Success working with universities, large dental organizations, or enterprise customers
- Strong network of dental-industry relationships
- Familiarity with CRM systems and business development tools
- Experience working with small or emerging teams
- Understanding of government, university, hospital, and enterprise organization sourcing and purchasing operations
