They are seeking a Data Protection Support Engineer who will be responsible for operational support of client data protection environments, troubleshooting, and optimizing backup and recovery processes.
Responsibilities:
- Operational support of client data protection environments to include monitoring backups, data restoration and issue escalations
- Perform backup and recovery operations for a variety of workloads including large scale NAS, virtualized environments, and public cloud resources
- Troubleshoot and optimize backup and recovery processes
- Monitor performance, identify issues, troubleshoot, and resolve
- Understanding of service desk workflows for responding to, updating and detailing resolutions to client requests
- Technical account management ensuring data protection environments are adhering to best practices and customer satisfaction is maintained
- Lead monthly service reviews for our clients
- Communicate upgrade and rollback plans and execute upgrades
- Maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
- Support platform engineers and architects with client onboarding tasks
- Communicate with clients, understand their needs and build trust
- Manage data protection platforms for multi-PB NAS to efficiently protect data on prem and in the public cloud
- Configure data protection policies for VMWare, AHV, SQL, Oracle, M365, Azure and AWS
- Assist data protection architects with migration of data protection from legacy to modern platforms
- Automate metrics collection via API and create useful visualizations and dashboards that accurately detail the status of a platform
