The Position is 20-45% Travel between Surgery Centers in: Phoenix, Houston and Tampa
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
The ASC Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and quality oversight across ambulatory surgery center operations. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and accrediting body requirements while supporting safe, compliant, and efficient clinical operations. The manager partners closely with clinical leadership, operations teams, and corporate compliance to maintain survey readiness, implement policies, and drive continuous improvement in regulatory performance.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements governing ambulatory surgery centers.
• Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys and accreditation inspections (e.g., CMS, AAAHC, Joint Commission, AAAASF).
• Monitor changes in healthcare regulations and ensure timely implementation of new requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Oversee compliance programs including infection prevention, life safety, patient rights, and quality reporting.
• Maintain documentation and records required for accreditation and regulatory review.
• Conduct internal compliance audits and operational assessments.
• Identify compliance risks and develop corrective action plans.
• Track performance indicators and compliance metrics across ASC locations.
• Coordinate and prepare sites for accreditation and regulatory surveys
• Lead mock surveys and readiness assessments.
• Serve as primary liaison with accrediting organizations and regulatory agencies.
• Provide compliance education and regulatory guidance to ASC leadership and staff.
• Develop training materials and facilitate ongoing staff education on regulatory requirements.
• Partner with clinical leadership, infection prevention teams, and operations leadership to support quality and safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with legal, risk management, and corporate compliance teams as needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field
• Certification such as CHC, CASC, CPHQ or CIC are preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in healthcare administration, compliance and/or regulatory affairs
• Expertise in CMS Conditions for Coverage, AAAHC, Joint Commission, AAAASF, OSHA, HIPAA, and state specific ASC regulations.
• Proficiency in conducting internal audits, operational assessments, and ongoing monitoring of compliance and quality metrics.
• Skill in maintaining survey ready documentation, controlled policies, logs, and regulatory records.
• Ability to track, analyze, and report compliance performance using dashboards, reporting tools, and incident tracking systems.
