Ping Identity is a company focused on securing digital experiences and protecting individual identities. They are seeking a Product Management Director to drive the product strategy and roadmap for their Privileged Access Management (PAM) product, ensuring it meets the needs of enterprise customers while integrating with their broader identity platform.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end‑to‑end product strategy and multi‑year roadmap for PingOne Privilege, with a focus on global enterprise and regulated customers
- Define how PAM capabilities (e.g., credential and secrets vaulting, session management, just‑in‑time and just‑enough access, elevation and approvals, auditing and forensics) evolve to meet emerging threat, compliance, and operational needs
- Define how PAM integrates with Ping’s broader identity platform (SSO/MFA, IAM, IGA, directories, analytics) to deliver differentiated, end‑to‑end scenarios
- Define the PAM strategy for human, AI agents and Non human identities
- Engage directly with CISOs, developers, security architects, identity leaders, and operations teams to deeply understand enterprise threat models, workflows, and constraints
- Translate complex security and compliance requirements into clear, differentiated product use cases for both cloud and hybrid deployments
- Monitor the PAM, IAM, and IGA competitive landscape and adjacent markets (cloud infra, DevOps, ITSM, ITOM) to ensure Ping is a strategic differentiator
- Establish Ping’s leadership in Agentic AI and NHI markets
- Translate strategy into crisp product requirements, narratives, and user stories for multiple engineering teams; make thoughtful, data‑driven trade‑offs on scope and sequencing
- Partner with Engineering, Architecture, UX, and Data teams to balance security, scale, performance, and operability for enterprise deployments
- Drive complex cross‑functional initiatives that span multiple product areas and services, ensuring clear ownership, milestones, and communication
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success on positioning, packaging, and GTM plays for PAM‑centric solutions and bundles
- Support strategic deals, customer escalations, and roadmap reviews as the primary product voice for PAM, especially with large global accounts
- Define and track key success metrics (e.g., privileged account/session coverage, reduction in standing privileges, attach/expansion rates, time‑to‑value) and use them to drive iteration
- Act as a senior IC product leader, mentoring other PMs in adjacent identity areas (Access Management, IGA, Analytics) and raising the bar on security depth and enterprise product thinking
- Champion a culture of customer‑backed, data‑informed, experiment‑oriented decision‑making across the product organization
Requirements:
- 10+ years in product management for enterprise B2B software, with significant time in identity and access management
- Direct product ownership in Privileged Access Management (or closely related domains such as privileged session management, credential vaulting, PAMaaS, privileged remote access, CIEM) for large or regulated enterprises
- Demonstrated success defining and executing strategy for complex products spanning on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives without direct reports, aligning Engineering, Architecture, GTM, and Operations teams around common outcomes
- Strong understanding of privileged access concepts: least privilege, Zero Standing Privileges, just‑in‑time access, session monitoring and recording, approvals and workflows, secrets management, and audit/compliance needs
- Solid grounding in identity and security fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, policy models, directory services, and common enterprise infrastructure targets
- Deep knowledge of IaaS cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and developers tools and technologies including SSH, RDP, Kubernetes and Databases
- Exceptional problem‑structuring and analytical skills, comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including experience presenting strategy and roadmap to executives and strategic customers
- Proven ability to decompose large initiatives into clear milestones, manage risk, and drive execution in agile environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field; an advanced degree is a plus
- Additional experience in IAM and IGA (SSO/MFA, federation, lifecycle provisioning, access requests, certifications, SoD) is a significant plus
