Dayforce is a global human capital management (HCM) company headquartered in Toronto and Minneapolis. The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure solutions, collaborating with various teams to ensure successful deployment and operation of cloud applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, and implement cloud infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and best practices
- Deploy and configure cloud services, including virtual machines, containers, databases, and networking components
- Develop automation scripts and templates for provisioning, configuration management, and orchestration of cloud resources using tools like Terraform or Ansible
- Implement security best practices and compliance standards for cloud environments, including encryption, and network security
- Set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address performance issues, optimize resource utilization, and reduce costs
- Design and implement disaster recovery and high availability solutions to ensure business continuity and minimize downtime
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity professionals, to support cloud-based applications and services
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and standard operating procedures
- Provide training and support to internal teams on cloud technologies and best practices
Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain or currently possess a U.S. security clearance, requires U.S. citizenship and residency in the United States
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions
- Proficiency in one or more cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and load balancing
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools and techniques
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect)
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and migration strategies
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and microservices
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2
