Dahl Consulting is partnering with a leading U.S.-based retailer to support its enterprise waste minimization and sustainability operations. The Project Manager role focuses on coordinating service requests, managing vendors, and ensuring effective waste and recycling programs across retail and distribution locations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day service requests related to waste programs, including trash, recycling, and cardboard balers
- Coordinate with external vendors on pickups, repairs, onboarding, and issue resolution
- Track open requests and follow up to ensure timely and complete resolution
- Review basic operational data to identify trends, gaps, and cost drivers
- Support store and field teams by answering questions and assisting with troubleshooting
- Maintain clean, accurate records and program documentation
- Identify recurring issues or risks and escalate them to core program leadership
- Support new vendor onboarding and ongoing service relationships
Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills with proven follow-through
- High attention to detail and adherence to established processes
- Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Basic data skills, including Excel, tracking logs, and simple data analysis
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on identifying root causes
- Comfort working with vendors, service providers, and field teams
- Ownership mindset with a bias for action
- Experience with work order or asset management systems (e.g., IBM Maximo or similar platforms)
- Familiarity with Smartsheet or other workflow/project tracking tools
- Prior experience supporting operations, facilities, waste management, or sustainability programs
