Applied Power Technologies, Inc. is a leading nationwide systems integrator in the power and energy market. They are seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative to develop cost estimates and proposals for Electrical Power Monitoring Systems while identifying and nurturing early-stage sales opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate cost estimates, proposals, and technical scopes for Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) projects, including materials, labor, software, and integration
- Research, identify, and engage new business opportunities across target sectors (utilities, data centers, hospitals, education, industrial facilities) and coordinate site visits with account managers
- Respond promptly to inbound inquiries, qualify prospects, and nurture leads through early engagement and discovery calls to understand technical and commercial needs
- Partner with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to refine proposals, optimize messaging, and align technical solutions with client objectives
- Obtain supplier quotes, validate pricing, and monitor industry trends, technology updates, and competitive activity
- Maintain accurate opportunity data, document client interactions, and track proposal progress within the CRM system
- Prepare and deliver high-quality, timely proposals that balance technical precision with commercial competitiveness
- Assist with follow-up from trade shows, webinars, and marketing campaigns to convert engagement into qualified opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer engagement—preferably in electrical power systems, automation, or industrial technology
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a professional, consultative approach
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with CRM platforms
- Self-motivated, competitive, and resilient with a passion for growth and learning
- Familiarity with electrical power distribution systems, power monitoring, SCADA, or building automation
- Experience selling or supporting technical or engineered solutions
- Understanding of the sales cycle for capital projects and engineered systems
