Convergint is a leading global service-based systems integrator with a mission to be the best service provider for their customers. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and pursue opportunities to grow the fire alarm business across the East Coast region, leveraging both industry experience and internal resources to drive new business.
Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities within and above the CTC level to grow the fire alarm business across the assigned region
- Pursue opportunities through enablement and support of the CTC (branch) and its Colleagues
- Support marketing materials and initiatives, recruitment efforts, identification of M&A opportunities, and strategic initiative fire support
- Team up with CTC (branch) colleagues and other Strategic Initiatives teams to support fire alarm sales training, qualifying opportunities, and support in developing winning proposals for large RFPs
- Support Convergint’s Strategic Fire Initiative through fire and life safety product partner engagement, internal SharePoint content creation, and supporting the evolution of internal resources such as estimating tool
- Support National/Regional Electrical Contractor initiatives by partnering with the local AEs in strategy development
- Collaborate with both Global Accounts and Data Center teams to create accountability for fire alarm growth initiatives
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Requirements:
- Extensive success selling fire alarm and life safety systems in both the new construction and end user markets
- Well recognized as an expert at what you do
- Successful track record of sales success
- Ability to think strategically and develop new strategies and execute tactics for growth
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Shown ability to engage cross-function colleagues in Marketing, business development, sales, and operations
- Extraordinary organizational skills
- Comfort with executive presentations
- Must be a team player also a team leader
- Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
- Minimum Experience: 5-7 years sales including 2 years in the area of commercial (electronic security, fire alarm, systems integration)
- Preferred Experience: NICET Level III or higher – NCET IV
