Plasser American is a leader in innovative railway solutions, committed to quality and excellence. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will optimize manufacturing processes, ensure high-quality production, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze production processes, schedules, and methods to forecast future manufacturing requirements and identify areas for improvement
- Design and develop detailed layouts for workflow, equipment placement, and space utilization to maximize manufacturing efficiency
- Research and develop new manufacturing processes, equipment, and products to enhance innovation and productivity
- Establish and maintain routings for new products, ensuring alignment with operational standards and best practices
- Lead or participate in reviews of products with manufacturing cost overruns, including bill of materials, tooling, machine capability, and capacity assessments
- Review and verify routings, inspection procedures, bills of material, packaging, and technical drawings for accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
- Design and recommend manufacturing layouts and product flows within production facilities
- Review, analyze, and control labor, material, and other production costs, providing data to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure all manufacturing processes, equipment, and products adhere to safety standards and legal regulations
- Manage projects from initiation through execution, including planning, analysis, and implementation, aligned with corporate strategies
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to manufacturing methods and processes
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with manufacturer instructions to minimize downtime
- Conduct engineering assignments focused on developing new methods, tooling, and machinery concepts, including cost estimation and problem resolution
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering
- Extensive experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering may be considered in lieu of a degree
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in CAD, CAM, data analysis software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills
