TEKsystems is a leading provider of business and technology services, and they are seeking a highly experienced Epic Data Abstraction Project Manager. This role is responsible for leading large scale data abstraction initiatives tied to Epic implementations, ensuring data integrity and compliance while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data abstraction projects across multiple departments, service lines, or hospital entities
- Develop project charters, timelines, resource plans, RAID logs, communication plans, and stakeholder engagement strategies
- Coordinate and manage cross functional teams including abstraction staff, Epic analysts, clinical leaders, revenue cycle, HIM, and IT
- Facilitate project meetings, provide status reporting, and escalate issues/risks proactively
- Oversee abstraction workflows for clinical data (e.g., problem lists, allergies, medications, immunizations, procedures, histories, results, imaging data, oncology data, registries, etc.)
- Ensure adherence to Epic data standards, organizational policies, and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with Epic application teams (Ambulatory, Inpatient, Radiant, Cupid, Beacon, Beaker, HIM, etc.) to validate data mapping and clinical workflow integration
- Manage quality audits, pre go live data validation, and accuracy checks to ensure clean conversion and readiness
- Serve as the primary point of contact between abstraction teams, Epic analysts, clinical/operational leadership, and vendors
- Lead training, onboarding, and communication for data abstraction teams
- Support change management, ensuring understanding of data governance, documentation standards, and workflow impacts
- Establish quality thresholds, audit processes, and performance metrics for abstraction accuracy and productivity
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state reporting, oncology registries, IR documentation, mammography, and other specialized data requirements
- Maintain documentation for audit trails, data lineage, and quality control
- Identify workflow gaps and recommend process improvements to enhance abstraction speed, accuracy, and standardization
- Monitor production, eliminate bottlenecks, track KPIs, and implement corrective actions
- Support long-term data governance and sustainment planning post-go live

- Responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering large scale data abstraction initiatives tied to Epic implementations, migrations, optimizations, or regulatory reporting
- Oversee end to end project execution—ensuring clinical, operational, and technical data is accurately abstracted, validated, and migrated into the Epic EHR environment
- Partner with clinical stakeholders, abstraction teams, Epic analysts, HIM, quality teams, and leadership to ensure data integrity, compliance, and successful go live readiness
