Hydro, Inc. is a global leader in industrial pump reengineering based in Chicago, Illinois. They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in pumps or rotating equipment to support their nuclear pump business, focusing on engineering design and technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of Pump Cross-Sectional Drawing, General Arrangement drawing, and Bill of Materials in SolidWorks and ERP System
- Preparation and review of manufacturing drawings involving Geometric and stack-up tolerance
- Providing Technical support during machining, pump assembly, and Performance Testing
- Review of the New Pump, Parts Manufacturing plan, and Pump Repair plans
- Preparation and review of Commercial Grade Dedication Plan for Product, Process, and Vendor
- Preparation and review of Casting, Weld Wire, and ASME/Code Material Procurement Documents
- Preparation and Review of Welding (WPS,PQR, WPQ), Heat Treatment, and Thermal coating procedures
- Preparation and Review of Technical Equivalency Document
- Review, disposition, and acceptance of internal and external/vendor nonconformance reports and Corrective Actions
- Perform and Review of Pump Mechanical and Hydraulic Calculations
- Preparation and reviewing stress & seismic calculation, code reconciliation, and design report for ASME Code Components
- Preparation and review of Pump Performance and vibration test report, and Performance Test requisition
- Support writing and revising the engineering process control procedures and documents
- Preparation and Review of Pump Assembly, Installation, Maintenance, and Storage Procedure
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 5 plus years of experience working in the pump or rotating equipment industry
- SolidWorks and mechanical design experience required
- Good Understanding of engineering concepts
- Good communication, analytical, and computer skills
- Eagerness to learn and work under pressure and against demanding deadlines
