Collins Aerospace is a leader in aerospace and defense, seeking a Field Service Engineer to support systems that ensure operational excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical equipment while providing technical advice and managing customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on site field service including installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and removal of complex electro mechanical equipment to meet customer and company requirements
- Install, test, service, and calibrate equipment to ensure performance aligns with operating specifications and customer expectations
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, providing clear recommendations and solutions to both internal teams and customers
- Conduct preventative maintenance and routine service activities to ensure equipment reliability and long term performance
- Analyze product performance and support modifications, upgrades, and enhancements based on customer specifications and operational needs
- Serve as the primary on site representative, building strong relationships and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
- Manage assigned scope of work to ensure services are delivered in alignment with contract requirements, timelines, and expectations
- Coordinate technical services, logistics, provisioning, and system configurations to support customer operations
- Assess customer equipment needs and provide guidance on service solutions, upgrades, and optimization opportunities
- Provide training and instruction to customers and internal teams on equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices
- Lead and support junior technicians by assigning work, providing guidance, and ensuring quality and consistency in service delivery
- Maintain and review equipment logs to identify trends, determine repair needs, and recommend effective solutions
- Travel up to 50% to support customer sites and business needs
Requirements:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and servicing electro mechanical equipment
- Strong customer facing communication skills with the ability to build relationships and represent the organization effectively
- Experience supporting or servicing industrial refrigeration systems
- Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical control systems, including PLCs
