General Dynamics Information Technology is one of the largest IT and mission services providers to the government. They are seeking a Product Systems Engineer Sr. Principal to support the federal Indian Health Service Electronic Health Record modernization program, managing various technical efforts to ensure customer success.
Responsibilities:
- Understand, document and implement requirements to meet customer and program objectives across various technical areas
- Engage in technical design and provide oversight to GDIT-managed systems, providing senior technical leadership across product systems and engineering activities
- Define systems architecture patterns that align with FedRAMP controls and enterprise standards, document system context diagrams, sequence diagrams, and data flow diagrams
- Collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure alignment with NIST CSF, NIST 800‑53, PPSM, and agency policies; collect artifacts for ATO approvals
- Understand, document and implement Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities with cloud hosting partner
- Understand, document and implement policies and processes for system-to-system connections management, including Ports, Protocols and Service Management (PPSM) policies and associated documentation
- Participate in cross-functional teams tasked with implementing new or emerging vendor (chiefly Oracle Health) capabilities, or greenfield initiatives
- Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud Hosting, and Cybersecurity internal and customer teams where such topics intersect
- Understand and effectively communicating technical status to various stakeholders
Requirements:
- 10 + years of related experience
- Experience with Oracle Health (Cerner) Millennium EHR software suite
- Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of equivalent work experience
- 5+ years in healthcare IT implementation, with large, complex systems experience (multi-vendor, multi-environment)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and achieve successful outcomes

- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) design/operations experience (networking, IAM, policies, compartments)
- Exposure to healthcare interoperability (e.g., HL7 v2, FHIR, CCD/C‑CDA, IHE profiles)
- Experience with PPSM policy enforcement and documentation
- Background in Disaster Recovery/COOP planning and execution for mission systems
- Prior Federal health experience (e.g., VA/DoD EHR, HHS agencies)
