Meridian Technologies is seeking a Senior Telecommunications BIM Designer to join their team and support the design and delivery of complex technology and low-voltage systems within advanced facility environments. The role involves developing, managing, and coordinating detailed 3D BIM models and 2D construction documentation while ensuring alignment with client standards and project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and support telecommunications design documentation for client projects
- Set up, manage, and maintain Revit BIM models in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Collaborate with BIM leads, designers, architects, and engineers across all disciplines
- Work under the direction of telecommunications discipline leads to execute design intent
- Ensure consistency and compliance with company and client BIM/design standards
- Utilize Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD to create and manage project deliverables
- Produce fully coordinated 3D models across multiple disciplines (C, S, A, M, E, P, T, I, L)
- Generate accurate 2D construction drawings from BIM models
- Coordinate models to identify and resolve clashes, ensuring constructability
- Apply company design methodologies and best practices throughout project execution
- Translate conceptual design intent into detailed, constructible deliverables
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all modeling and documentation work
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least 8 years of Revit BIM design experience
- Proficiency with NavisWorks
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry
- Understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
- Understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
- Understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
- Experience following client design and modeling standards
- Proficiency with Bluebeam or similar markup software
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided markups and/or verbal direction requests
- Willingness to learn
- At least 6 years of Revit MEP design experience
- Knowledge & application of telecommunications industry association (TIA) standards
- Knowledge and design experience of semiconductor and/or advance facility environments
- Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems
- Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarm, access control, closed-circuit television (CCTV)
- Knowledge of control systems and network components and topology
